"Jesus left no formal religious rule for his followers. The closest he came was his proclamation of the Beatitudes. [We need] a resolve to take seriously Jesus’ example of self-emptying love; the way of mercy and compassion...a determination to proclaim the Gospel not only with words but with one’s life." Rob Ellsberg
Do you want to…
Are you…
If you want a deeper and more meaningful spiritual life, then Moving Toward Wholeness is a great place to start. We begin with the truth that you are made in the image and likeness of God and that wholeness is your birthright. Through your human experience, you lose sight of these basic truths and end up feeling separate from God, ashamed of certain parts of yourself and alienated from others.
In the Beatitudes, Jesus lovingly describes the path back to this birthright of wholeness and a way to live in a deep and abiding awareness of God’s presence in your daily life.
This is the hero’s journey; the journey of Adam (from Eden to expulsion to salvation); the journey of Jesus (from birth, to death, and resurrection), and it’s your journey too.
Join me for the life changing experience that is Moving Toward Wholeness. You've learned to cope; now it's time to learn to heal. I look forward to journeying with you.
In love and wholeness,
Mary Beth Thomas
Moving Toward Wholeness is an 10-week, LIVE, interactive exploration of the Beatitudes in this new light. During the live meetings, you'll participate in journaling exercises, breath-centering and movement practices as well as small group discussion. PLUS, each session is recorded and you'll have access to view them again and again to further unpack this rich content.
The course is based on a direct translation of the Beatitudes from the original Aramaic (the language Jesus spoke) by renowned Aramaic scholar Neil Douglas-Klotz.
Each week, you'll explore these ancient concepts, the surprising revelations that come from this translation and the direct relevance for your life today. These healing and empowering words of Jesus will resonate with your soul and lead you deeper into your faith. Use the button below to see a week-by-week course description.
Sundays 4:30pm - 6:30pm EST
March 6 through May 8, 2022
Mary Beth Thomas is a teacher, retreat leader and life-long Catholic, who has been studying the Neil Douglas-Koltz translation of the Beatitudes for many years. In this course, she draws from Douglas-Koltz's insights into the text as well as multiple, other contemporary sources and her own personal journey of transformation to bring this age-old wisdom to life in a new light.
"My introduction to this translation by Neil Douglas-Klotz was hearing him recite one of the Beatitudes in the original Aramaic. It literally moved me to tears. I didn’t know what the Aramaic words meant and I didn't understand why it moved me so much, but I knew I wanted to learn more. Little did I know how much it would change my life and the way I see the world." - Mary Beth
It can change your life too.
All of the sessions will be LIVE and you can also review the recordings for ONE YEAR after the end of the course. We will be doing some physical movement in each session, but it can be done from a chair if need be. We will also have time for Q&A at the end of each session to answer any specific questions.
